This therapy aims to relieve back pain as well as cure the real cause of the pain.
Another way to treat back pain which they found to be effective is the Magnetic Therapy. The theory is based on the fact that magnetic fields can motivate healing from various health conditions like inflammation, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, insomnia, cancer and fibromyalgia and even heart disease. However this therapy does not have any scientific data to support its claim.
How does magnetic therapy for back pain work?
The magnetic therapy has various forms like in the form of jewelry which includes magnetic necklaces, earrings and bracelets. They are also available in the form of belts, wraps, shoe inserts or self-adhesive strips. These are then applied to the affected area. It may also take the form of blankets and magnetic mattress pads, magnet conditioned water as well as magnetic field generating machines.
These magnets are said to improve blood circulation, reduce muscle tension, normalize the metabolic functioning and increase endorphin level. There is evidence that magnetic therapy lessens diabetic foot pain, neck pain and post polio pain. However if you are having radiology, you should avoid the use of any magnetic devices. Those people who have cardiac peacemakers and pregnant women should also avoid magnetic therapy.
It is important also that you should first consult your doctor before undergoing magnetic therapy to avoid any serious health problem that could develop. Not all health problems can be treated successfully with magnetic therapy. It may help relieve you from the symptoms but not the real cause of the problem.
