Going Gaga over Pink Rugs

Fashions come and go but pink seems to be a perennial favorite among girls of every age from 3 to 93. Not only can you wear the color but you can decorate your home with it too. At the moment, a pink rug is very much in vogue so you will have plenty of choice when you go shopping. Make the most of this availability to get exactly the right rug for your situation. If you are not sure what to choose and you are going gaga over all the possibilities, here are some guidelines.
1. Get the Right Color
Pink rugs come in all shades from almost white pastel pink to the deepest fuchsia. What works for you will depend on the rest of the room. If your room is all gentle natural shades, you can either keep your rug in the same gentle tones as the room or add a shot of slightly brighter pink to liven it up. If, however, your room is full of strong colors you need a bright pink so that your rug does not get overpowered by the rest of the room.
2. Quality Counts
You don’t want to pay too much for your rug, but on the other hand don’t buy one that is as cheap as it looks. Your pink rug would then become a source of irritation rather than one of joy when it wrinkles and refuses to look good on your floor.
3. Think about Shape and Size
Know exactly where your rug will go and work out how big it needs to be before you go shopping. As far as shape goes, rectangular shaped rugs work for most situations but if you are putting your rug in the center of a large floor area or in a square section of floor, a round rug looks good too.
4. Buy What You Love
Although these are practical guidelines, it is important to buy something you love otherwise, what is the point? If you come across something you love so much you have just got to have it, think about how you can change your room to accommodate your rug, rather than the other way around. Some the best decorating schemes start off that way.
