The first thing that you need to do is limit the cardio.  If you want to prolong your weight loss or if you are wanting to train for a marathon or another sport, then cardio is good.  For quick weight loss though, it will not help you to lose weight.  This is because cardio is about training your body to become more efficient so that you use less energy to do the same tasks, and to even run farther and for a longer period of time.  The problem with efficiency is that your body burns less fuel, which sounds great, but when your fuel is fat, the fact that you won’t be burning as much fat isn’t good.

What you need to do is focus on strength training types of exercises.  These can be done in a myriad of ways.  The first, and most popular, is with free weights.  Other ways to go about it is to use a resistance band or even a weight machine.  Another great option for providing resistance is to use your own body weight which can be done in a number of ways.  Lunges, push ups, pull ups, crunches, mountain climbers and jumping jacks all use your own body weight in order to provide resistance on the various muscle groups.  Strength training burns fat, so focus on this type of exercise for a majority of your workout and you will see fast weight loss results.
