There are many diets out there, and some of them are major fads while others actually qualify as excellent eating and diet plans which can help a dieter get to their goals while also being sustainable for the long term.  While opinions may vary from one nutritionist to another or one weight loss expert to another, many people believe that the Scarsdale Diet is one of the healthier options out there.  This is a low carb and low fat diet that emphasizes two very specific two week meal plan high in lean protein, vegetables, and fruit.  Literally thousands of people have experienced some excellent long term success using the Scarsdale Diet plan, and after studying it this should not surprise you.

There are several main parts to this diet plan which are crucial to the plan working.  Right off the bat, breakfast is considered by far and away the most important meal of the day.  Many studies since then have shown and confirmed that when it comes to weight loss the first early morning meal is absolutely critical to getting the most out of any weight loss plan.  Seasoning, spices, and healthy condiments like mustard are all strongly encouraged to keep food flavorful and make the meals enjoyable.  Minor snacking is allowed as long as it’s kept to low sodium and low calorie soup and carrot sticks.

There are hundreds, or even possibly over one thousand different fad diets out there and many of them are not a good weight loss plan but it’s hard to find major faults with this eating plan considering it offers enough calories while cutting down on both excessive fat and excessive carbs.  A more complete eating plan normally makes up the best diet, and in this case this is a major part of the reason why it’s hard to argue with the Scarsdale Diet as one of the better plans out there.
